Gulf-fresh flavor, every week

Fresh Finds That Follow the Gulf’s Rhythm

Seafood isn’t static—and neither is our menu. At Shrimp Runner, we embrace the seasons of the Gulf. When something special is in season, we bring it home to Missouri. Oysters in winter, redfish and pompano in summer, tuna, or grouper, all are sourced fresh by our founder, Kelby, during his weekly trips to Biloxi. These aren’t everyday offerings; they are the freshest catches the Gulf has to offer. We share weekly updates on availability and ordering information through our Facebook page. Each item is limited, so we recommend reserving early. Don't miss your chance to taste what the Gulf is offering this week.

Hard-to-Find Seafood, Sourced Just for You

Most inland seafood shops stick to frozen staples. We don’t. Shrimp Runner brings in premium seasonal Gulf catches you won’t find elsewhere in Missouri—red snapper, pompano, oysters, grouper, and more. These items are available only when conditions are right. Because we work directly with Gulf docks and hand-select every item, we offer a rotating variety of fresh fish and shellfish, eliminating the need for middlemen. This means better quality and a chance to try rare items that never hit supermarket shelves. Each special is a unique opportunity to enjoy something truly seasonal. ABOUT US

A Fresh Surprise, Every Single Week

No two weeks are alike at Shrimp Runner. That’s the beauty of seasonal specials. We don’t chase trends or stock mass-produced fillets—we bring in what’s fresh, what’s exciting, and what’s naturally at its peak. It’s a different way to think about seafood, and it’s one our customers love. Some watch weekly for red snapper. Others are waiting on oysters or yellowfin. Whatever you’re hoping to try, our specials make seafood seasonal again—just as it should be. If you’ve never had the chance to cook fish that was caught 36 hours ago, now’s your moment. Follow us, check back often, and get ready for something different.

FAQS

Seasonal Specials FAQ

  • What kinds of seafood are included in the specials?

Our seasonal seafood specials feature a rotating selection of premium Gulf offerings, updated regularly based on availability and timing. Common items include whole red snapper, filleted amberjack, redfish, pompano, grouper, yellowfin tuna, and raw Gulf oysters in the shell. These are not stocked items—they’re brought in when the Gulf yields the best catch, hand-selected by Kelby during his Thursday sourcing trips. We do not keep these in long-term storage, so each item is fresh, seasonal, and limited in quantity. The exact mix depends on weather, fishing conditions, and dock availability. That means one week might feature redfish and oysters, while another could include yellowfin and pompano. If you're looking for something specific, follow us on Facebook for weekly updates and be sure to reserve your items early. Supplies are limited and often sell out within days.

  • How do I find out what’s available?

We post our seasonal seafood specials on Facebook every week, typically mid-week once we confirm dock availability. Our post includes information on what’s available, pricing, pickup locations, and instructions on how to place an order. Because these items are based on seasonal catch, the list changes frequently. The best way to stay informed is to follow Shrimp Runner Seafood on Facebook and check the page each week. We may also share photos and descriptions of the week’s offerings so you can see what’s coming up. If you’re looking for something specific—such as oysters for a party or red snapper for the grill—feel free to message us, and we’ll let you know if it’s available. We keep it simple and personal so you always know exactly what to expect.

  • Are seasonal specials sold fresh or frozen?

Our seasonal seafood specials are always sold fresh—never frozen. That’s what makes them special. We source seafood that has been harvested within the last 24 to 36 hours, transported directly from the Gulf to our pickup locations in Missouri. Items like oysters, red snapper, and pompano arrive cold and intact, with no time spent in freezer storage. This ultra-fresh model is what gives our specials their superior taste, texture, and overall quality. Some larger fish may be offered whole or filleted, depending on the week’s catch and customer requests. We do not offer frozen versions of these items, as doing so would compromise the quality for which we’re known. If you want to experience seafood as it’s meant to taste—clean, fresh, and handled with care—our seasonal specials are the way to do it.

  • How do I order seasonal specials?

Ordering seasonal specials is simple. Each week, we post availability and pricing on our Facebook page. To place an order, simply comment on the post, send us a direct message, or call the listed number. We’ll confirm your order, set a pickup time, and make sure your seafood is ready. Orders are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, and items often sell out quickly—especially oysters and premium fish, such as red snapper. Payment is made at the time of pickup. Because quantities are limited and seasonal items are unpredictable, we recommend ordering as early as possible after the post goes live. If you have a specific event coming up, please let us know—we’ll do our best to set something aside or give you an early heads-up. The process is personal, fast, and built to ensure you get the freshest seafood possible.

  • Do I need special equipment to cook these?

Not at all—most seasonal seafood can be cooked with basic kitchen gear. If you’re ordering whole fish, a sharp knife and a grill, oven, or stovetop are all you need. We’re happy to clean or fillet fish depending on the week and product. For oysters, you’ll want a shucking knife and a little know-how (we can guide you). For large fillets, such as amberjack or tuna, pan-searing or oven-roasting works beautifully. We also provide cooking tips and recipe suggestions for many of our specials. If you're not sure how to prepare something, just ask. Whether you’re new to seafood or a seasoned cook, we’ll help you make the most of your order. We believe seafood should be exciting—not intimidating—and we’re here to make it easy.
